The Tournament of Towns is an international mathematical olympiad for school children aged 13 to 18.

It has taken place every year since 1980 and has two rounds, one in the Autumn and one in Spring, both with two levels. It is not obligatory to participate in all rounds or levels. Younger children are also welcome and will have their score adjusted according to their age.

Children from more than 100 cities in over 25 countries take part in the tournament each year and we invite anybody with an interest in maths to join us.

Participants produced brilliant results last year and we look forward to London taking a strong position in the world ranking of cities this year.

The day commences at 1pm and children will have up to five hours (with a break for snack) to solve a set of problems.

Pupils whose performance is outstanding will receive an invitation to the famous Annual International Mathematics Tournament of Towns Summer Conference where over several days they will participate in team research projects comprising a sequence of related problems.
